Shop At Amazon This Christmas.

It’s officially November 1st!  And we all know what that means: Christmas shopping season has begun.  Although most of us won’t be thinking about it until at least December (usually the week or two before the 25th, really…), it’s fair game to start talking presents.  If you wanna talk about “The 1%,” let’s talk about the amount of people who actually enjoy Christmas shopping…  For the remaining 99% of Christmas shoppers, hittin the stores is miserable.  Snow, ice, and cold weather make traveling a nightmare; troves of other shoppers make it miserable; and when all is said and done, after doing all your shopping, you’ve wasted a lot of time, effort, and gas money (not to mention a lotta dough spent on all those Peppermint Lattes).  Sure, hit a mall like… once.  Go have the experience of seeing Santa and all the lights, etc.  But for this Christmas, be smart.  Shop on Amazon.  In this brief list allow me to convince you that Christmas this year shouldn’t result in a hassle to give gifts; it should be easy, save you money, and ensure you get the best gift possible for that special someone.

Reasons to Christmas Shop on Amazon.com

#1: Massive Selection: If it exists, Amazon.com probably has it.  Within reason.  But sometimes, not even within reason.  If they don’t sell it, personally, Amazon has a new initiative to let other businesses sell their products on Amazon, plus if you REALLY want a certain item, Amazon has an enormous plethora of used items as well.  Don’t bother wasting your time perusing stores to find what you’re looking for: just search it!  Even if you don’t know what to get, check out the various departments and browse a bit.  Amazon has something for everyone.  Everyone.

#2: Best Prices: Almost without fail, Amazon is cheaper than the stores.  Even if it’s by just a few dollars, it’s going to be cheaper.  And if you check back often enough, Amazon loves posting random deals.  This week it’s Buy 2, Get 1 Free on Select Video games.  Best part is, the games are actually SWEET.  Batman Arkham City, Rage, Sonic Generations, and more are on the list.  This week, too, feel free to buy all 3 seasons of Arrested Development for $28.  You might be thinking though, “Who cares if I save money: I still have to pay for the exorbitant shipping…”  False.  I can’t remember the last time I paid shipping via Amazon.  Most orders over $25 get free shipping AND it arrives pretty quickly.  OH.  And did I forget to mention, no taxes?

#3: Beat the Crowds, Shop When You Want: Although I’ve more or less already mentioned this in the intro, let me stress again: shop from the comfort of your home.  Amazon is open 24 hours and there’s going to be no one rushing you, no one pushing you to buy something, and no awful smells emanating from the food court.

#4: Peace of Mind: It’s a misconception, even today, that online shopping is hard to do.  Really it couldn’t be simpler as long as you review the steps it offers: Add To Cart, Go To Checkout, Provide Credit Card Information, Pay.  And for those of you uncomfortable paying with your credit card, it’s really not much different than giving it to any other company.  They’re all storing your information, it’s all getting logged away somewhere.  Although internet fraud is discussed much more, the risk is just as great physically handing your card to a barista at Starbucks– any idea how many times that one has happened?

So like I said: I was going to be short and to the point.  Shop at Amazon this holiday season!  It’s cheaper, easier, and quite frankly, more convenient.  No stress, no hassle, no crazed out mothers trying to buy toys for their kids.  Plus, you’re gonna be the bomb when Little Jimmy gets that bad ass, rare video game his parents can’t find in stores, but Amazon perfectly had in stock.  Who’s the best Aunt now?
